With the recent hike of Netflix subscription prices in the United States, anime fans will actually be happy with the outcome. Eventually.
Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos said that the company plans to release “about 80” films in 2018, as well as 30 new anime series.
Thirty. That's 3-0. While you might be scuffing at that number if you're a Crunchyroll subscriber, don't mock Netflix too much. The $8 billion Netflix has committed to new content in 2018 means we'll probably be seeing series green lit, funded and released that wouldn't have been by Japanese media publishers. And I know more than half of you are mooching off someone else's account anyways, so get excited!
