Masaya Nakamura, age 91, who founded Namco (now Bandai Namco), has passed away. A Namco engineer named Toru Iwatani was responsible for the design behind the iconic game, which went on sale in 1980, and has been played more than 10 billion times since then. NES Classic Edition Release in US and Famicom Mini Console Release in Japan

This holiday season, gamers will relish in memories of Nintendo with the release of retro consoles similar to the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Famicom system. Famicom was released in Japan in 1983 and NES was released in North America in 1985, followed by Europe in 1986 and Australia in 1987. Both game systems will come pre-loaded with 30 8-bit games. The Famicom Mini comes out in Japan on November 10 for 5,980 yen or about $59 while the NES Classic will be available on November 11 for about $60. Read full story...
