Japan's old Olympic stadium Kukuritsu Kyogijo, which translates to "National Stadium" in English, is going out with style before its planned demolition. On May 28th and 29th in Shinjuku-ku Tokyo the National Stadium will host JAPAN NIGHT, a two day star studded JPOP extravaganza.

The popular venue has hosted many sports events and a large number of concerts in the past. Here's the extensive line up over two days: IKIMONOGAKARI, UKASUKA-G, Kaori Kishitani, The Gospellers, KAZUYOSHI SAITO, Naoto Inti Raymi, FUNKY KATO, YUZU, SEKAI NO OWARI, Perfume, MAN WITH A MISSION, and L'Arc-en-Ciel.

From JAPAN NIGHT's official site:

We started "JAPAN NIGHT" to assemble Japanese artists who have spread their music all around world, as well as to present new Japanese artists to the world.

The first "JAPAN NIGHT" will be held at the venue that held the Tokyo Olympics, several legendary sports events, and countless entertainment events. It will be final week of events at Kokuritsu Kyogijo, which will be closing it's doors on May 31, 2014.

"JAPAN NIGHT" will welcome the new Kokuritsu Kyogijo that will open in 2019 and bring world sports and entertainment to Japan once again. The new stadium will be the center of attention for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which will be the beginning of Japan's new start.
